The Porcupine Room at the Bar Harbor Inn is the perfect location for your intimate wedding reception. Located on the second floor of the historic Main Inn, the Porcupine Room features classic New England décor and elegantly curved windows with panoramic ocean views. The newly renovated wrap-around balcony offers a birds’ eye view of Bar Harbor and inspires guests to mingle while sipping cocktails and delighting in butler passed hors d’ oeuvres. The balcony is also an alternative option for a smaller, private wedding ceremony.

Take a moment after you and your guests enjoy a meal of fresh local cuisine to step out on the balcony for a spectacular Maine sunset full of vibrant oranges, pinks, purples and blues. Many couples choose this opportunity to begin their new journey together with their first dance overlooking the beautiful Maine coastline.

The Porcupine Room gets its name from the magnificent views of the Porcupine Islands in Frenchman Bay. Sheep Porcupine Island, Burnt Porcupine Island, Long Porcupine Island and Bald Porcupine Island make up the chain of islands that now are part of Acadia National Park and a beautiful backdrop for your wedding photography.
