Reading Room

Bar Harbor’s Most Iconic Wedding Reception Room

The Reading Room is a wonderful option for larger ocean view wedding receptions at the Bar Harbor Inn. Located in the historic Main Inn building, the Reading Room’s elegant charm includes a beautiful crystal chandelier situated over the dance floor, exquisite panoramic views of Frenchman Bay and the Porcupine Islands, and a unique curved dining area. Your wedding reception guests will experience the allure of historic Bar Harbor where the famous wealthy families of Philadelphia, New York, and Boston once hosted their family weddings and other social events.

The Bar Harbor Inn is proud of its magnificent facilities, world-class hospitality, exquisite cuisine and professional wedding planning staff who will do everything they can to create a remarkable wedding reception experience for you and your guests at the Reading Room. Start your reception off with a fun Maine themed signature cocktail and some of the regions craft beers while guests mingle in the Oasis Club Lounge and enjoy the views from the covered balcony. Our experienced staff will pass a variety of gourmet hors d’ oeuvres, including fresh local seafood options of miniature crab cakes and lobster and arugula crostini. For a truly Maine themed menu select the Filet & Maine Lobster Tail entree and a unique wedding cake with wild Maine blueberry filling.
